Forbes says South Dakota is one of the best states for business
SOUTH DAKOTA — According to a new report from Forbes magazine, South Dakota is among the best states for business in America. The Mount Rushmore State came in at No. 9 in the magazine’s Best States for Business rankings.
The Forbes rankings evaluate 40 data points across six categories, which include quality of life, business costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, economic climate and growth prospects. South Dakota, which jumped up six spots in the report from 2014, ranked high based on its low business costs and solid employer base. Overall, Utah took the top spot, followed by North Carolina, Nebraska, North Dakota and Colorado.
