Sioux Falls climbs in economic analysis rankings
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — According to the economic research firm Policom, Sioux Falls has the eighth strongest economy in the nation. It’s the best ranking the city has ever achieved.
The Policom rankings look at the economies of 381 metropolitan statistical areas and bases its rankings on 23 factors averaged over a 20-year period. The analysis of that data provides a picture of each city’s economy based on its effects on the standard of living of residents.
Sioux Falls moved up from No. 15 last year, while Washington D.C. took the top spot in this year’s analysis. The full Policom economic strength rankings can be viewed here.
