RTI expansion breeding jobs in Brookings
BROOKINGS, S.D. — Thanks to two loans facilitated by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED), veterinary and diagnostic research company Research Technology Innovations (RTI) is expanding its operations in Brookings. The expansion will help the company add new research space and 10 new jobs.
“Established in 1994, RTI, LLC continues to thrive in the bio and animal science field,” said Gov. Dennis Daugaard. “It’s always a pleasure to see a grassroots company like RTI successfully grow into a renowned, innovative leader in the industry.”
RTI’s expansion will add approximately 20,000 square feet of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) space, which will be used for animal research and environmental and food safety testing.
“Our relationship with SDSU, the city of Brookings and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development has been very influential in making RTI the success it’s become,” said Rollie Nevins, RTI chief operating and financial officer. “Partnerships are what grow a startup business into a successful business, and we’ve been very fortunate to have those kinds of connections. Access to government leaders, low-interest financing programs and a university has created an unbeatable packaged deal.”
