Belle Fourche on track for new grain terminal
BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. — The Belle Fourche Economic Development Corp. is planning a new grain terminal in Belle Fourche for the loading and unloading of rail cars. The facility, which will represent an $8.4 million investment, will be located in the city’s new industrial park.
The terminal project will feature 15,000 feet of railroad track and a covered warehouse for crane-loading and unloading. The grain terminal will initially focus on handling gondolas and boxcars for bulk shipping of agricultural products from South Dakota and North Dakota. Container shipping would be a possibility as the terminal grows.
